Merry Christmas from the Bryan family

We hope you had fantastic day today, giving thanks to God for the wonderful things He's done for you! Starting with the birth of Jesus. I love the way the card my Grandma Nonie gave me put it so beautifully:

'As the stars shone down on that holy night...the miracle was only beginning'

We know that it was such an awesome thing to be celebrated - God coming in flesh to give us the chance to be reconciled to Him again. And altho the birth of Jesus is still something to be celebrated, we know that like this card said, the miracle was only beginning at His birth.

We've had a REALLY nice day. Really relaxed. Didn't have to go anywhere. Just got up when we felt like it after a snuggle in bed with the boys. I told Josh it was Jesus' Happy Birthday and we started singing Happy Birthday and he grabbed my alarm clock and made it play the Happy Birthday song. I was so impressed! It's got several difference tunes and I didn't think he'd get the right one straight away but he did! It was really special.

Eventually we came downstairs and Aaron started on ham and eggs for breakfast (another tradition!) but to be completely honest, I COULDN'T WAIT!! So since Josh had already had toast and the rest of us could wait to eat, we started opening presents!

I have a problem with having more than one present opened at a time...I guess I just like the idea of everyone sharing in the joy of that person as they open the gift meant just for them. So I was pretty strict about it this year. And I felt it made that time more special. It also showed Josh that he couldn't just go nuts. He actually got a chance to look at and enjoy each gift while he was waiting.

We all got spoiled (possibly me and Josh the most - lol!) and LOVED it of course! But it's funny you know, when i talk to other people and see some stuff ppl buy at the shops, I realise that we don't spend probably even a 10th of what most people do. And I'm glad. Even if it makes me look like a scrooge! lol, I'm not, but I won't spend a ridiculous amount of money (or worse, money we don't have). I think Christmas is so much more than that.

Anyway, here's some pics of Aaron and Josh from the day we made the Christmas puddings. They turned out REALLY NICE by the way! Just need to get the sixpences from my Grandma to put in them and the tradition will be complete...might tell that story on another post, this one's getting real long!

I LOVED this pic of Josh from his Sunday School Presentation! He just looks really cheeky!

This one's from the night we went looking at Christmas lights around town. We all bundled into the car and drove around for a while. This house in Bonython is always really nice, they raise money for SIDS and Kids. They had SO MANY people there that night lol, hope they raised lots of money.

And just a sweet pic of my boys.
Aaron was resting on the couch the day before this, with Kai on his chest asleep.
Josh got on the couch and said, 'where's my brother?'
I was like, 'who?' Cause I wasn't sure what he meant.
Then he goes, 'my little brother' (which sounds more like 'bruver' - so cute!) anyway, so I go, 'Malakai?' and he's says yes and eventually I realise he wants Kai in the lounge room with us and then he wanted him on his chest like Daddy did the day before.
So of course I had to get a photo. It was precious.
I'm so grateful that they love each other.

I've got heaps more photo's but it's getting late.
Hopefully I'll get to post them tomorrow :)
