I thought it was really cool that Pam posted about the Relay for Life cause just this week I was checking out the Mother's Day Classic which is a fun run/walk to raise money for Breast cancer and I thought it would be neat to get involved...at this stage I'm not sure whether that would involve me doing it this year or next year since i'm getting on the bandwagon a little late.
I've always had a bit of an interest in breast cancer specifically because my Grandmother had it (had a mastectomy) so it's pretty close to home. Praise the Lord the op went well and she's been fine (in relation to that anyway!) since.
So yeah, why not go and find something you can support? And giving blood is cool! I don't know if they still do it but they used to give out milkshakes afterwards!! lol. I haven't given blood since I started having kids cause my iron gets really low but yeah, it's a great cause too.
It can sometimes feel a little overwhelming tho, cause there are a LOT of needs. But I heard a quote on the radio the other day that kinda struck me -
'A christian without a social conscience is a burden'
I wanna always be open to what God would have me do...no matter how small.
Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Mar 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Thanks for the reminder Pam.
