That's what Josh would say. He doesn't ask why questions, just what does something/someone DO'S (or doose). Which basically means why - what's their purpose?
This morning I was thinking - why do we have the friends we have? What is it about the people God has brought into our lives that we like, that draws us together? That IMPACTS us?
We all have something special, unique and so very valuable to add into each others lives. Some friends comfort, others make us laugh, some help us see areas in our lives we need to give more completely over to God. Sometimes one friend does all these at various stages in our lives. Praise God for those friends who see us faithfully thru many seasons.
I remembered that Aaron once wrote down the special things about each of our home group members and gave it to them - and Ruth did something similar when she spoke at a ladies meeting. I believe that sort of thing is very powerful.
I know someone at work who is constantly affirming and giving thanks for people and the things they do. She is amazing. She is such a blessing. More importantly, she is inspiring.
I struggle with affirming people. But I believe God is helping me with it. And I will continue to pray for growth in this area. Not so that I might be like the woman at work, but that I will edify and build up others in my own special and unique way.
