AYM - very long!!

I can't believe the weekend is over so fast and it's tuesday already :) I also can't believe the boys are still asleep and it's nearly 9am! So I thought I'd try and squeeze a post in before they wake up...

Last week at work was nuts. Things are so busy. Lots of testing and marking to do (a little overwhelming!) and prep for camp this week. I barely stopped but it's good, keeps things moving and I don't mind a little adrenaline rush every now and then ;)

Immediately after work friday we headed up to HopeLive in Sydney for AYM. All was going well til we got completely lost. I mean, we were about an hour in the WRONG direction by the time we realised what had happened. Aside from ladies camp, I don't think I've ever been that lost - we weren't even in the place we thought we were when we got help!! lol, it ended up being quite funny and there was no harm done (except the youth had to sing a LOT of songs while waiting for us to get there!). So yeah...then Aaron preached a shortened (but excellent) version of his message. It was a good night. We opted out of the fellowship afterwards cause we needed to get the boys to bed...

ha ha - well, it ended up that where we were staying, their neighbours had the party of the year til 2am! Of course they've never had a party like that before...only when there's visitors to keep up next door. Thankfully the boys (all 3 of them) slept through it :) ...an interesting start to the weekend ;)

Saturday was such a gorgeous day, got up to 31 or something. What a shock from Canberra weather! We had breakfast with Andrew, Becky, Brad and Christina and it was AMAZING. Thanks Becky!! A little shopping and it was out to Cronulla for lunch with the youth...boy was it hot. A really nice day tho. Then we thought we'd head back to pop the boys into bed before the house service that night but unfortunately none of us thought about how we'd get into the house! So we sat outside eating a crunchie bar we found in the nappy bag while we waited for poor Brad and co to drive all the way there just to let us in. lol it was all pretty funny...well, sort of!

That night at Andrew and Becky's house was awesome. The worship was beautiful - I've gotta get my hands on some of those songs! All three of us team members shared and it flowed so nicely. We were able to put Kai down for the night before we left and that made SUCH a difference. Josh played with Elijah and it was just a really nice relaxed BLESSING of a night.

Sunday was busy but awesome. Aaron preached both services and did a great job (I always think he does a great job, because of course I'm his no.1 fan! lol) Josh went to sunday school and had a great time playing with the kids. We had forgotten to put the pram back in the car from the previous afternoon so we had to drive all the way home to get it and then all the way back to meet the youth for lunch (what a weekend for that kind of thing!) but just like every other time, something that could have turned into a yukky big deal, just didn't.

After we packed the car that afternoon it was off to service again and I gave my testimony after Jess sang a lovely song. I actually didn't know I was speaking again and didn't have a second to prepare anything...so I really had to rely on God to help (I'm not all that ok with getting up unprepared). But some beautiful people shared with me how it had blessed them afterward - God is so good!

Then after wonderful fellowship at Macca's we headed back home. It was such a great weekend - it always seems to work out that way with the things we do for God. We had an easy trip back, arriving home at 1.40am and in bed by 2 :) The kids were great, such a blessing. They even slept in on monday morning til after 9.30am!! That's so totally unheard of around here. Praise God.

Speaking of them sleeping in...mmm...better go get them up! Well done if you read all the way through to the end!
