wow...ouch

Ok, so I mentioned that I hurt my neck earlier this week (how devastating that sewing was the thing that pushed it too far :(

Well, despite going to my chiro and getting a remedial massage, I didn't seem to be improving like I thought I should be...then this morning, after I sewed Malakai one of these last night, I woke up in agony again :(

So Aaron tells me this morning that obviously I'm going to have to stop sewing so much. I was crushed! But thought there must be more to this than sewing.

Well, I went into uncharted territory and saw an osteopath this morning (it was either that or a physio, but I couldn't get an appointment with one of them today). He was great, managed to isolate the vertebra that was in pain and most importantly - WHY. Apparently my right shoulder is so tight it's unbelievable and I'm in danger of tearing the small muscle on the top of my shoulder - the rotor cuff (which is apparently very difficult to completely rehabilitate). So I have to 'rest' my shoulder from repetitive things (like sewing and using a computer mouse) as well as do the exercises he gave me and do some yoga/pilates. This in turn should help my neck as the shoulder muscles won't be pulling on it so much.

I'm still in a lot of pain, but it's nice to know some ways forward :)

BUT...I'm SO BUMMED about not being able to sew much for the next few weeks!!

Oh no! You DO NOT want to tear that muscle.....Jonathan is only just getting strength back after his op, but it has taken ages (and apparently lots of pain)
How very annoying for you though, especially while you are enjoying it so much!

I didn't realise that was the exact same muscle that Jono had his op for. I hope the pain is easing off for him, especially with a new bub needing lots of daddy cuddles! I was very scared when they told me that and I'm trying really hard to take it 'easy'...even tho I had so much I wanted to do! lol

You poor thing. That's not very fun. I'll be praying for you, especially with ladies camp just around the corner.

Jonathan's is actually a 40% tear, which wasn't repaired in surgery as they initially thought. They did however have to clean it all up and cut one of the bicep ligament things. Thankfully the recovery time was about half the time as if they had to completely repair the rotar cuff....anyway he can tell you ALL about it if you want :)
Take care!
