oh my goodness - YES!

So...things weren't perfect for me growing up. But you know what? Despite that, I always knew my mum loved me. And when I look back, like Kevin DeYoung does in this article, I can remember my mum telling me to pray, even though I was pretty sure she didn't.

I know for sure that I over-complicate my parenting. I'm desperate not to mess up my kids. I want things to be so VERY different for them than it was for me. Lately though, through this article and other things God has used to speak to me, I am hearing Him call me to get back to basics. To stop stressing and heaping the guilt on myself...cause that's not helping. To let my kids be themselves instead of thinking any bad attitude they display means they're destined to become something I really don't want for them. I really appreciated this article. I really appreciate God's grace. And the reminder that while raising my children to love and serve the Lord is a big responsibility, I don't have to do it alone. God is right at the front line with me.
