Blog banner

Thought I'd put info on here about how i did the banner, since Mel was asking and it gives me somewhere to check back if I do a new one and forget what I did this time! lol

So in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 I made a new blank file. In the dialog box that comes up set the size to 740 pixels wide and 175 pixels high. I had the resolution at 300 pixels/inch. Then basically just decorate it however you like, save it and login to your blog.

(I'm assuming you can use other photo editing software programs to do something like that as well. Or you could download the tryout version of PSE 6 and go nuts making digi stuff before the 30 day trial runs out!)

Once you're logged in to your blog, click on the template tab, you should then see the page that says 'Add and arrange page elements'. Where your blog header is, click edit and there you click on browse and find your saved image from your computer (you used to have to have it saved to an online thingy - like i said - it's SOOO much easier now!). Once it's uploaded, make sure where it says, 'Placement' you select 'Instead of title and description' (unless you want to keep that there too).

I hope that makes sense! Have fun making headers/banners for your blog!

Yo! I just thought I'd let you know, you can keep the file size of these things smaller by only putting them to 72 dpi. Unfortunately computer monitors only resolve to 72 dpi. 300dpi is used more for printing, so you should use that if you're putting the images in a scrap book or something!
