...it's malakai's birthday...
he doesn't technically turn 2 til sometime after noon (is it terribly shocking that I can't remember exactly?)
I have thought of him as being 2 for a long time, so it seems strange to be celebrating his 2nd birthday tomorrow.
But I am looking forward to seeing his dimple as he smiles in the morning...when I tell him it's his birthday and he's going to have a party. I am looking forward to seeing him run around the backyard with his little friends and get excited that it's HIS day. I really enjoyed some special cuddles with him today, as I got a bit emotional that he'll no longer be one, and I feel like it went way too fast. But I am looking forward to tomorrow and just enjoying the day.
And on a more personal note, I'm excited that I didn't cry when the cake didn't work out and we'll have to have ice-cream cake instead. I feel like I'm moving forward - away from perfectionism, comparison and stress, into a better place. And I thank God for that :)
