Ariella's first birthday party

Altho Ariella officially turned 1 on the 28 Dec 09, we thought it'd be better to have her party a little later. We tossed around some dates and decided on the 16th Jan. Unfortunately it clashed with another friend's birthday party so we pulled it forward a week, to today. We had such a nice day, and after the initial shock, Ella seemed to really enjoy herself. Aaron and I made her a butterfly cake, our first attempt at a girly cake :) we had fun doing it together

Just about to blow out the candle and open presents. Ariella seems to like the attention as long as she's in familiar arms ;)

She was given some very special gifts from special friends - thank you!

and Malakai seemed to think that some of them were up for grabs! lol

The only problem was that we had WAY too much food! Not a bad problem except that we'll be eating it for while yet lol ;)
