• He's really enjoyed cricket this season and soon we'll be looking at soccer over the winter.
• He's reached his goal of level 20 in reading and breezed passed it to independent readers :) he loves the Zac Power series and has read quite a few of them.
• He loves maths and sometimes he'll randomly ask us to give him +/- questions at the dinner table, in the car or at various other times.
• Tonight he helped me with one of his favourite meals, pumpkin soup, by cutting up the onion...I was pleasantly surprised at how good he was at it! He's super keen to learn how to cook, partly due to our shared love of masterchef ;)
• I cannot believe how big Malakai is getting. He's grown up SO MUCH since starting preschool. He still gives the best 'squeezy hugs'! He's such a great helper. I'm thinking he might start soccer this winter too.
• He's gotten so good at swimming, we can pretty much leave him to himself when we're in the pool together, although sometimes he gets a bit overconfident!
• he's pretty much obsessed with making Lego creations at the moment. He especially loves making things for the little men to go in. I can see his creations 'improving' all the time, I love it.
• Ariella is absolutely my 'best girl' (like a 'best friend' but since she's my girl, I call her my best girl). We do lots of things together simply because she's always wanting to do whatever I'm doing, and i love it :)
She also helped with dinner tonight, stirring and putting the pumpkin in the pot.

• she's going through a bit of a clingy stage at the moment. Crying when I've left her at her 'pre-preschool' program and even when she's gone to Sunday school! But we're focussing on her being brave and I think she's doing really well. Breaks my heart though!
• I did a really dumb thing last night! We were rushing to get to our church's youth Trivia Night, and needed to fill the car up on the way. Aaron is still recovering from being quite sick, and his cold seemed to have decided to come back for another go, so he went to the chemist while I went to fill up the car.
Our car takes diesel fuel...and as I finished filling it up (with 60 litres) and was putting the pump back, I noticed I'd filled it with unleaded petrol!!!! :( Thanks to my friend Melanie, I knew that was a VERY BAD THING. And also thanks to her, I knew I couldn't drive it. And so began quite a looong evening of dealing with the problem I had created :(
My generous father in law got dressed and came over to help us tow it back to our house (with the awesome help of an old friend of his that just happens to live around the corner from us! What a blessing) then today Aaron and his dad spent most of the day emptying our fuel tank...oh boy do I feel awful :( especially cause Aaron is pretty sick. I'll be paranoid about putting fuel in the car for the rest of my life I'm sure! We we're all really disappointed we missed the trivia night too, the kids even cried! Talk about making me feel even worse lol!

Oh noooo! How annoying! I noticed you weren't there :( Hope Aaron's feeling better. There must be something going around.
Love the update of the kids. I must try do that more often also :)
